Print Design : Neverwhere

The creation of a cover, layout and illustration of a novel by Neil Gaiman, was a substantial challenge of honoring the work of the popular British author. The typographic solution needed to be subside and allow for the text itself to take the central stage, leaving the type to subtly enhance the experience. The collaged illustrations had to embellish the narrative while retaining considerable ambiguity so as not to spoil the surprises prior to the reading. The themes of reflection and duality paramount to the novel were carried throughout the design.¶
